Doctorate in Special Education with an emphasis in Mathematics or Science

The University of Missouri was recently awarded a leadership grant from the Office of Special Education Programs, U.S. Department of Education to train special education professionals who are interested in pursuing research and teaching careers in higher education.

Project PRISM: Preparing Interdisciplinary Leaders in Science and Mathematics Special Education is focused on preparing future scholars in the area of special education and mathematics or science education. The project provides the following support for admitted students:

• $30,000 annual stipend
• Tuition throughout the degree program
• Travel funds to attend and present at a research conference
• A laptop computer along with licensed software
• Opportunities to collaborate with leading scholars across the University of Missouri and other research-intensive universities across the nation

Students must attend full-time during their doctoral program and commit to pursuing a position within higher education.
