Terri Steffes
- Teacher Development Specialist
Dr. Terri Steffes is the Teacher Development Specialist for the Heart of Missouri Regional Professional Development Center. She leads all Missouri Teacher Development System projects for the RPDC including Developing I and II (Teacher Academy, Teacher Academy Grads,) Mastering C (Mentoring,) and Emerging I and II (Beginning Teachers Yr. 1 and Yr. 2 Support.) Her goal is to help K-12 educators understand and use best practices to work smarter but not harder. Dr.Steffes was the first teacher in Missouri to be awarded National Board Certification and served as a Missouri’s STARR teacher. She was nominated for Jefferson City and Columbia’s Teacher of the Year. In addition, she was Zonta’s Yellow Rose Finalist in 2017. Upon completing her dissertation, she was inducted into Golden Key at Saint Louis University. She currently teaches pre-service teachers at Columbia College and supervises student teachers at Lindenwood University.
