Sam von Gillern earned his doctorate at Iowa State University. His research focuses on digital literacies and how people learn and communicate through digital technologies. More specifically, he investigates digital citizenship and game-based learning and their relevance for literacy development and education. He enjoys facilitating experiences for preservice teachers to connect with the children in the community to promote learning opportunities for college students and children alike.
