Mizzou Ed Professional Staff Give Back to the Community
Mizzou Ed professional staff members were out in full force April 22 for the 2016 Volunteer Day.
Approximately 70 professional staff members spent the Friday afternoon at organizations like the Central Missouri Food Bank, Access Arts, the Science Teachers of Missouri honeysuckle removal project, Habitat for Humanity, City of Refuge and Youth Empowerment Zone.
“The professional staff council was looking for ways to bring together our members and give back to the community,” said Megan Wilkinson, chair of the professional staff council. “This event went really well and we are hoping to make it an annual event.”
“The College of Education is committed to enriching the lives of citizens in the City of Columbia and the state of Missouri,” said Kathryn Chval, acting dean. “It is important for our students to see administrators, faculty, and professional staff serving the community and interacting with community members to learn from them. These types of experiences will support our local communities and also our community within the college. I’m thrilled our professional staff are leading the way.”
